Ms. Ashley Stallings
I was born in Newark, New Jersey. I moved to Elizabeth City, NC with my mom when I was 2 years old.
I spent many summers visiting my family in Newark.
I grew up in Elizabeth City and attended J.C. Sawyer Elementary, River Road Middle School, graduated from Northeastern High School in 2006, and graduated from Elizabeth City State University in 2010.
I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. I am the oldest. I also have a very large and wonderful family. We have family reunions every year. I have family all over the country, so we travel to have our reunion somewhere different each year.
I was a member of the student government in high school and I participated in various language arts events in college. I was also an active member of the English Honor Society in my university's language arts department.
I was also able to teach ESL in South Korea from 2012-2014. I experienced many first while traveling and living in another country. I flew on an airplane for the first time in my life, I lived alone for the first time in my life, and I also ate many new and interesting foods. This is my first year teaching in the U.S. and teaching here versus teaching in South Korea are two totally different animals. I have definitely caught the travel bug. I hope to return to South Korea or other countries to teach again in the future.
A fun fact about me is that I love anything with sweet potato!!! One of my favorite desserts is sweet potato pudding.
My grandmother makes the best sweet potato pudding!!
I LOVE LAUGHING, I LOVE SINGING, I LOVE TRYING NEW ACTIVITIES, I LOVE DANCING, I LOVE READING, I LOVE POETRY, I LOVE CRAFTING, I LOVE SHOPPING, I LOVE MOVIES, I LOVE ART, I LOVE LEARNING AND
I LOVE TEACHING!!!
